All members of the Joint List political party plan to boycott US Vice President Mike Pence's speech at the Israeli parliament next week, the party's chairman Ayman Odeh said in a statement on Wednesday.

"The Joint List in its entirety will boycott the American vice president's speech in the Knesset in order to pass on a clear message to the administration in the US and to the world that there are citizens here that vehemently oppose Trump's statement and to make it clear that US has lost its standing as sole mediator in the negotiations," Odeh said. "West Jerusalem will be recognized by the entire world as Israel's capital immediately after the Israeli government recognizes east Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state."
