Security Adviser Uzi Arad on Sunday evening said that the Palestinian
Authority was being uncooperative, and suggested that PA President
Mahmoud Abbas had rejected Israeli proposals to resume peace talks
because of his own political interests.
either in a bad mood, or is waiting for the elections or for an Arab
League meeting,” Arad said at the Herzliya Conference.
“The reasons for Abu Mazzen's (Abbas's) attitude
change, but the uncooperative policy goes on, and it's
disappointing,” he said.
However, Arad asserted that “the stagnation is not
necessary” and expressed hope that Israeli-Palestinian peace
negotiations would resume soon.
