Armed police set up security cordon in Brussels suburb

BRUSSELS - Police closed down street in southern Brussels in a major security operation involving specialist armed units on Thursday, a Reuters photographer said from the scene.

Belgian media said an armed person may be hiding in a building in the southern suburb of Forest. Police were not immediately available to comment on the incident, which began around lunchtime.
