A man was shot and wounded at Umm el-Fahm junction, Israel Radio reported overnight Tuesday.

Police were searching for the assailant and had set up checkpoints in the area.

The circumstance of the incident were unclear. Medics evacuated the wounded man to Emek Medical Center in Afula.
