Assailants opened fire on a vehicle early Saturday morning near the West Bank settlement of Ateret, north of Ramallah, the IDF reported.

One person was lightly injured and treated at the scene. IDF forces are searching the area for the attackers.

This incident comes one day after two Israeli police officers were killed while trying to stop a terror attack at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

The slain officers were named as Hail Stawi, 30, from Maghar and Kamil Shanan, 22, from Hurfeish, both Druse towns in northern Israel. Both officers were buried on Friday afternoon in their home communities.
