Israel’s Nili Block claimed a gold medal at the Kickboxing World Championships held on Saturday in Belgrade, Serbia.

The 20-year-old, who only ended her IDF service three months ago, beat Croatian Marija Malenica in the final of the women’s K1 under-60-kilogram competition. Block overcame six-time world champion Alena Muratava of Belarus in the semifinals.
