Australian PM Gillard wins leadership vote unopposed

CANBERRA - Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard was re-elected prime minister unopposed by a special meeting of the ruling Labor Party on Thursday, ending a damaging leadership row with former leader Kevin Rudd.

Treasurer Wayne Swan was re-endorsed as deputy prime minister unopposed.
