Authorities snatch sex offender who fled court

A sex offender escaped from the Magistrate's Court in Acre Tuesday morning after his hearing, Channel 2 reported Tuesday.

The man, who had been on house arrest, was released for his hearing under restricted conditions, and was under the supervision of an Israel Prison Service's unit specializing in sex offenders.

The man fled the court, despite the presence of police authorities, upon realization that his custody would be reinstated.

After extensive searches, IPS authorizes managed to apprehend the man near Nahariya.
