In the past two days, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon had telephone conversations with both Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the Middle East peace process.Ban strongly encouraged ongoing efforts toward renewing Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, according to a statement put out by his office.He stressed the importance for the parties to create the conditions conducive to a resumption of meaningful negotiations.
