Defense Minister Ehud Barak held Hamas responsible for the barrage of rockets on southern Israel on Sunday, stating that Hamas "will pay the heavy price; a price that will be painful."
Barak stated: "If we are forced to return to Gaza to deal Hamas a [serious] blow & restore security, we won't hesitate to do so."
"Additional shelling into Israel from Syria will elicit a tougher response; exacting a higher price from Syria," Barak continued.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is to hold meeting of foreign ambassadors on Monday to argue for action against Gaza and against Palestinian unilateral UN actions.
