Barak: We can see progress in peace talks after US election

Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Tuesday said that he expects to see progress in peace talks with the Palestinians in the months following Tuesday's midterm elections in the US. Barak made the comments during a speech made to high school students in the North.
"I assume that it will take a couple weeks after the elections to organize things and in the coming months I hope and believe that we can see real progress in the negotiations."
Barak also addressed the controversy over the bill which proposes the government provide living allowances for full time yeshiva students.
"The State has given yeshiva students different types of support for 30 years and now must find a way to give students and young secular people the same things equally."
