Defense Minister Ehud Barak praised Western countries Tuesday for expelling Syrian diplomats. 

Speaking at the Ministry of Defense, Barak said, "The expulsion of the Syrian ambassadors is an additional step toward toppling the rule of the Assad family. More governments must follow suit. The Assad Regime cannot be part of the family of nations."
