Defense Minister Ehud Barak criticized the government's "arbitrary" decision to deport 400 foreign workers' children in a statement released on Wednesday. Barak was in Washington during the government meeting in which the decision was discussed.

Barak said in the statement that forcefully removing Hebrew speaking children from Israel "will cause permanent damage to all of us."
