Barak to visit Washington on upcoming trip to US

WASHINGTON - Defense Minister Ehud Barak will make a brief trip to Washington this coming week as part of his trip to New York for the opening of the UN General Assembly and former president Bill Clinton's gathering of world leaders.
While in the capital on Monday, he is due to meet with Defense Secretary Robert Gates, National Security Advisor Jim Jones and Dennis Ross, a senior White House advisor on the Middle East and particularly Iran.
President Shimon Peres will also be in New York but is not expected to accompany Barak to DC.
