Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said Friday morning that Jews can build anywhere in the capital, just like Arabs can, and that "neither the prime minister nor anyone else in the government has any intention of freezing construction in Jerusalem."
Speaking to Kol Hai Radio, Barkat said that the "opposite" was in fact true.
"There is a consensus on Jerusalem," he said. "If, God forbid, there is any other remark to the contrary, I'll be the first to come out and defend the city's future."
