Baumel to be buried Thursday at Mt. Herzl military cemetery

Thirty-seven years after he was declared missing, the body of Sgt. Zachary Baumel will be buried on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Jerusalem Mt. Herzl's military cemetery.

He was last seen during the 1982 battle of Sultan Yacoub in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley during the first Lebanon war. His remains were discovered in a cemetery in a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria and returned to Israel this week. News of his body's return to Israel was published on Wednesday.
