Former Meretz MK Yossi Beilin said that Former President Moshe Katsav should be pardoned after the court sentences him for the crimes against him, Army Radio reported Wednesday.

"Before Katsav was elected President in 2000 people came to us and supported Peres and told us that we have no idea what kind of man Katsav is," Beilin said.

"We heard rumors about Katsav, just like we heard about other politicians. What could I do about the issue? No one would have believed that he would rape his worker," Beilin continued.
