A six-year-old boy was in critical condition on Thursday night after almost drowning in the bathtub at his home in Beit Shemesh.

An initial investigation found that the boy and his five-year-old brother were competing over who could spend more time underwater, and he was later found unconscious in the bath.

Volunteers from the "United Hatzalah" Beit Shemesh branch resuscitated the boy and evacuated him to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem.
