Bennet joins Habayit Hayehudi, will run for chairmanship

Naftali Bennet, a former advisory to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, announced Monday the he is joining Habayit Hayehudi, and will run for the party chairmanship.

Bennet, also a former chairman of the Council of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, was previously planning to establish his own political party.

Prior to leading the settlement umbrella organization, Bennet served as  Netanyahu's chief of staff from 2006-2008 while the Likud leader headed the opposition.
