Vice President Joe Biden on Sunday evening at the J Street’s National Gala spoke about his and the US administrations support for the fight against the Boycott Divestment and Sactions movement, anti-Semitism, and the shared "soul" of the United States and Israel.

He also mentioned "the sometimes overwhelming frustration we have with the Israeli government," saying that the current course the country is on will not guarantee Israel's status as a Jewish, democratic state, before going on to assure that America is Israel's "maybe not only friend, but it's only assured friend."

Earlier, Secretary of State John Kerry said Sunday's bus explosion in Jerusalem “bears all the hallmarks of a terror attack and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms.” He also called for moves from Israel towards a two-state solution.
