WASHINGTON- US Vice President Joe Biden met on Friday with the speaker of Iraq's parliament, Saleem al-Jabouri, and announced an additional $9 million in US humanitarian aid for Iraq, the White House said.

President Barack Obama dropped by the meeting and discussed the ongoing fight against Islamic State militants in Iraq, the White House said.

The United States has provided $416 million in aid to Iraq since 2014.
