Former US president Bill Clinton is scheduled to participate in Saturday evening's memorial rally to honor slain prime minister Yitzhak Rabin in central Tel Aviv.

The former president, who was in office when Rabin's final term in office was cut short by his assassination at the hands of a far-right Jewish nationalist, is due to address the rally.

President Reuven Rivlin and Rabin's daughter, Dalia Rabin, are also scheduled to speak.

Israelis mark the 20th anniversary of the Rabin assassination this year.
