Bill on bathroom breaks for employees passed in 1st reading

The Knesset plenum on Wednesday approved in its preliminary reading a bill proposed by Labor MK Shelly Yacimovich, Shas MK Yitzhak Vaknin and Kadima MK Shlomo Molla, which would obligate employers to provide toilet facilities, and to grant bathroom breaks to employees as needed. "To our regret," the bill stated, "the number of workplaces which disregard the rights [of workers] to use the toilet according to needs is rising."
