Bill seeks to cut exit fees from communications companies

The government will vote this upcoming Sunday on a bill that would eliminate contract cancellation fees from all communications companies including internet, cable, and cellular phones, Israel Radio reported Wednesday. If the bill passes, then those seeking to cancel their contracts would only need to pay 8 percent from their average monthly bill multiplied by the number of months the contract obligated the customer.
Communications Minister Moshe Kahlon told Israeli media that there is no reason that a customer should be required to pay a penalty for the desire to switch companies.
