Blast kills at least 14 in Afghanistan's Herat

HERAT, Afghanistan - A roadside blast killed at least 14 people and wounded an unknown number of others in the western Afghan province of Herat on Thursday, a spokesman for the provincial governor's office said.

The blast in the Owbi district of Herat was possibly caused by a land mine, said Mahiuddin Noori, spokesman for the Herat provincial governor. Another blast in the same area wounded four civilians, he said.
