Brig. Gen. Imad Fares files petition against Gabi Ashkenazi

Brig. Gen. Imad Fares filed an petition with the Tel Aviv District Court against Army Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, following a decision to dismiss Fares from the army.

Fares, a former commander of the Galilee Division, was charged with not carrying out orders and failing to report an accident caused by his wife while driving his military vehicle and lying that he was in the car with her.

In April, Ashkenazi decided to dismiss Fares from the army for not telling the truth.
