Twelve people were killed after a tourist bus carrying 40 passengers plunged 45 meters off of a cliff in the northern state of Durango, authorities said early on Sunday.

The accident occurred on Saturday in the municipality of Mapimi, according to the Twitter account of the local emergency services.
