The life expectancy in Israel is expected to rise by close to 11 percent for males and about 14% for females in the next 40 years, according to a Central Bureau of Statistics report. According to the projections, among Jewish males in the country, life expectancy is expected to increase from 79.7 years in 2008 to 88.7 years between the years 2055 and 2059. For Jewish females, the report predicts a rise from 83.3 years in 2008 to 94.9 between 2055 and 2059.

The report also stated that since 2000, the Arab population’s life expectancy has been about 5% lower than for the Jewish population. The CBS projections show that the life expectancy gap between the two populations is expected to drop to only 2.5%; for Arab males, life expectancy will grow from 75.7 in 2008 to 78.5 in 2055- 2059, and for Arab females, from 79.6 in 2008 to 92.5 in 2055-2059.
