Cabinet approves proposal simplifying import of dry food goods

The cabinet on Sunday approved a proposal to simplify the bureaucracy connected with importing food in an effort to lower the cost of living.
The decision applies to dry food items, such as rice, pasta and cereal.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said of the reform at the weekly cabinet meeting on Sunday: "This will certainly increase competitiveness and lower prices. This is part of the same continuing effort we are making to lower the cost of living in the State of Israel."
