Canadian officials to brief Friday on avian flu outbreak

Canadian officials will brief reporters at 1 p.m. ET (1700 GMT) on Friday about an outbreak of avian influenza in the province of Ontario, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said in a statement.
A CFIA spokesman contacted by phone said he could not give any details about the outbreak. A deadly strain of the disease was detected on an Ontario farm in April 2015.
