Chabad offers shelter to Australians displaced by fires

Chabad representatives in Sydney have announced that they are offering shelter to residents of all faiths displaced by bush fires that have ravaged 3,000 hectares of land in Australia’s Blue Mountains.
“We have opened our Chabad center to people in need of a temporary home,” local Rabbi Nochum Schapiro told chabad.org on Tuesday. “We have 40 bedrooms (each with bathrooms) ready and available to accommodate those in need.”
In addition, Chabad announced that the Jewish community was providing food and counseling to those in need.
