Channel 10 News announced on Tuesday night that Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein had decided to open a criminal investigation against former IDF chief of staff Lt. Gen. (res.) Gabi Ashkenazi and his former top aid Col. (res.) Erez Viner for their conduct regarding the Harpaz Affair.

The Justice Ministry refused to confirm the report, stating only that "there are ongoing proceedings on the issue and a decision will be made in the coming days."
