Costa Rica's Ambassador to visit Ariel University Sunday

June 7, 2013 09:19

In an unusual move the ambassador from Costa Rica on Sunday is set to visit Ariel University located in the West Bank. Most international diplomats refrain from visiting West Bank settlements, which they believe are illegal under international law.

When US President Barack Obama visited Israel in March, Ariel University was the only one out of Israel's eight universities, not to receive tickets to his speech in Jerusalem. Representatives from the Ukrainian and Indian embassies will also participate in Sunday's visit.

The visit was organized by the council of Jewish communities for Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.
