Court shortens remand of J'lem mother suspected of abusing her son

The Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday partially accepted an appeal by a woman suspected of nearly starving her three-year-old son to death, and ruled that her remand be extended only until Friday, and not until Sunday as was originally decided. The mother is suspected of severely abusing her child over the past two years, until he weighed a mere seven kilograms, according to police investigators. She filed an appeal on Tuesday against the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court decision to extend her remand by six days.
