Courts extend remands of haredi rioters against IDF enlistment

Courts in Ashdod and Jerusalem remanded into custody a number of haredim who were arrested for disturbing the peace on Thursday during riots against IDF enlistment and the slashing of state funds to religious learning institutes.

The Magistrates Court in Ashdod remanded 11 suspects into custody. The court was considering extending the remand of an additional two minors. 

In Jerusalem, the Magistrates Court extended the remands of one suspect until Monday and released another suspect to house arrest.
