Czech president Miloš Zeman announced that his country will move its embassy to Jerusalem in a statement Wednesday.

"I said four years ago that we need to move the Czech embassy to Jerusalem," Zeman said. "The time has come."

The Czech announcement comes just weeks before the opening of the new US embassy in Jerusalem on May 14.
