Detention facility in Negev to hold 8,000 infiltrators

The planned detention facility in the Negev will accomodate 8,000 detainees, be surrounded by high fences, watch towers, and patrol roads, Israel Radio reported Tuesday.The facility will be divided into eight sections, with each section holding 1,000 detainees, of which 100 are classified "special population." The detention center will contain among other things, engineering facilities, water reserves, and pumping stations.

Security officials told Israel Radio that the facility is not a prison, but rather a holding place until the African migrants are returned home or to other countries.
