AMMAN - The death toll rose to at least 24 on Sunday from a Syrian tank assault on the city of Hama to crush protests against President Bashar Assad, a local doctor told Reuters.The doctor said the city's Badr, al-Horani and Hikmeh hospitals had received 19, three and two dead bodies respectively.
