Dozens of Palestinians threw stones at police in east Jerusalem's Silwan neighborhood on Monday night, causing light injuries to four officers.

During the incident, one of the officers who came under attack fired a warning shot in the air.

Police had originally given chase after two Arab youths that were attempting to set fire to a vehicle in nearby Abu Tor.

They caught and arrested one of the suspects in Silwan, after which local residents began throwing stones at the officers.

Reinforcements were subsequently called in to contain the situation.
