A flight carrying US first lady Michelle Obama en route to Jordan was delayed on Wednesday due to dusty weather conditions, the Jordan Times cited US embassy staff as saying.

Obama was due to arrive in Amman after concluding a visit to Qatar during a Middle East tour to promote her "Let Girls Learn" initiative.

During her stop in Jordan, the first lady was set to visit a school built with US development funds. She was also due to meet with students and visit the ancient archaeological site of Petra.
