LUXEMBOURG - EU foreign ministers agreedon Monday to look into the possibility of using frozen Libyanfunds to assist rebels opposing Muammar Gaddafi.
A statement agreed at a meeting in Luxembourg said theEuropean Union acknowledged the urgent financial needs of therebel transitional council in Libya.
"The mobilization of international resources, includingwhere possible, through the use of Libyan frozen funds, incompliance with the provisions of the relevant UNSCRs (UnitedNations Security Council Resolutions), is key to support theinclusive transition process aimed at fostering nationalreconciliation," the statement said.
