Egypt is in talks with Israel regarding Palestinian prisoners on hunger strike, Al- Ahram, Egypt’s state-run paper reported on Thursday, quoting Palestinian sources.

According to the report, the Palestinian Minister of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Issa Karake arrived in Cairo last week to discuss the issue with Egyptian officials.

Al-Ahram also reported the efforts for talks with Israel came at the request of the Palestinian Authority.
