Egyptian parliament confirms changes, Sisi to remain in power until 2034

Egyptian parliament passed on Thursday constitutional amendments that will allow President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to remain in power until 2034, Reuters reported.
The vote passed with 485 members in favor, gaining the two-thirds majority needed for the change.
The amendments are expected to be discussed in a committee and face a second round of voting, after which they will be presented to the Egyptian people in a referendum to be held before June 2019.
