The Knesset on Monday swore in Israel Eichler (United Torah Judaism) as a new member in the stead of former Deputy Education Minister Meir Porush, who resigned from the Knesset as part of a rotation agreement.

Eichler, who represents the Belz hassidic dynasty in UTJ, was unanimously elected faction chairman in a Monday faction meeting.

In the same meeting, former faction chairman Eliezer Menahem Mozes was unanimously chosen to replace Porush as deputy education minister.
