Police from the Ben-Gurion International Airport station investigated a
rabbi from El Al on suspicion that he sexually assaulted an employee of
the airline, it emerged on Monday.
Commander Kobi Bachar of the
Ben-Gurion sub-district said that a little over a month ago his officers
received a complaint from a female employee of the airport, saying that
Rabbi Yochanan Hayot had kissed and hugged her against her will on a
number of occasions.
Bachar told The Jerusalem Post his officers
called Hayot in for questioning and opened an investigation, which ended
shortly thereafter when they sent the case to the prosecutor's office
with a recommendation that Hayot stand trial.
The case first
emerged on Monday following a report in Ynet, which said the case has
caused a great deal of embarrassment for El Al.
