Elderly woman seriously injured in south Tel Aviv fire

An elderly woman was in serious condition with burns over 60 percent of her body after a fire broke out on the first floor of a three-story building on Lavanda Street in south Tel Aviv on Saturday.
MDA paramedics stated that a man in his thirties was moderately injured in the blaze in addition to the approximately 70-year-old woman.
Firefighters were able to gain control of the fire. Police were investigating the circumstances of the incident.
According to Magen David Adom and police the building contains a synagogue. Israeli media reported that the fire broke out in the apartment of the victim, described as a "foreign resident."
