British Prime Minister David Cameron stated that England's first gay marriage ceremonies "sent a powerful message." The British PM referred to a law passed in England on Saturday to allow gay marriage in the UK, according to a report by The Guardian.

According to the report, Cameron stated, "When people's love is divided by law, it is that law that needs to change". Facing opposition, the PM reportedly said, "This is something that has been very important to me."
