Geert Wilders, the far-right Dutch politician who wants to ban Muslim immigration in Europe, defied prosecutors by telling the court on Friday he wants fewer Moroccans in the Netherlands, echoing comments for which he is standing trial.
The remark was made at the opening of his trial on charges of inciting discrimination and hate speech against Moroccans during election campaigning in 2014.
"Why did I speak about fewer Moroccans? Because I want fewer Moroccans," he said.
