A fire burned through a prison in Venezuela as thousands of troops attempted to quell an inmate revolt on Sunday, the Associated Press reported.

The three-day battle between Venezuelan troops and inmates at the Rodeo I prison left at least three dead and 18 wounded, with no sign of progress as gunfire continued to be heard, according to the report.
