Additional Israeli firefighters have been placed on duty up north as a precautionary to the heat wave  coupled with high winds that has swept through the country, Police reported on Saturday.

Firefighters have also asked the public to use extra care when lighting fires during the Lag Ba'omer festivities which will commence on Saturday night.
